Norma Cockriel July 19, 1937-April 9, 2026

Norma Jean (Buckler) Cockriel, of 89, of Edgerton, MO passed away April 9, 2026.

She was born on July 19, 1937, to Truman Calvert and Louise (Rutherford) Buckler in Rushville, MO.

On July 13, 1957, she was united in marriage to Larry Gene Cockriel. After their marriage they lived in Dearborn and Camden Point areas, moving to Edgerton in 1972 where they made their home. Larry preceded Norma in death on January 4, 1997.

Norma worked all her life at many various jobs, retiring in 2011 from Walmart. She enjoyed going to the movies and watching movies on television.

Norma was preceded in death by her son Roy Lee Cockriel; grandson Zachery Cockriel; brothers Truman Buckler, Jim Jones, Bill Turner, John Turner and Simon Turner; and her daughter-in-law Connie Cockriel.

Norma is survived by her sons Richard Cockriel and Randy Cockriel; daughter Lori (Spencer) Blankenship; sisters Mary Lee, Darlene and Arlene; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

Norma had laugh like no other and it was contagious, if she laughed, you laughed with her. She was a very positive person and in spite of her health, she would always say it could be worse.

Inurnment will be held at a later date at Ridgely Cemetery.
