According to new data from the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, sales of agricultural tractors and combines fell in the United States during the month of December when compared to a year ago. U.S. sales of agricultural tractors fell more than 11 percent, while combine sales fell by 26 percent year over year. AEM Senior Vice President, Curt Blades says, “December’s sales of ag tractors and combines follow patterns we saw throughout 2024, which reflects softness in the market,” and “While the year has been marked by high interest rates and uncertainty throughout the overall ag economy, AEM is looking forward to the potential in 2025 and will continue to advocate for policies focused on positively impacting the industry.”

Canada’s sales of ag tractors dropped just over 3 percent, while combines fell by more than 37 percent in December when compared to the previous year. The biggest December drop was in 100-plus horsepower tractors, down 27 percent from 2023.
