John William Spencer, 74 of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Wednesday, November 29, 2023. He was born August 16, 1949 in St. Joseph, MO, son of Alta Withrow and Joseph Spencer. He graduated from Central High School in 1967, and Missouri Western State University with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting. He was the owner of Mid-Continent Transport. John enjoyed going to Lake of the Ozarks, boating, playing pitch and cribbage, golfing, and bowling, and is in the St. Joseph, MO bowling Hall of Fame. He was a huge Kansas City Royals and Chiefs fan. He was preceded in death by his parents. Survivors include: two sons, David (Nichole) Spencer of Olathe, KS and Scott Spencer of Kansas City, MO, granddaughters, Taylor & Payton McGrath, and great grandchildren, Aria & Nico.There will be a private family service and cremation under the care of the Rupp Funeral Home.
