A teenage motorcycle rider has died of injuries suffered in a crash south of St. Joseph Tuesday evening.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports the 13-year-old was pronounced dead at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City.
The patrol reports the teenage boy from Dearborn was riding south on Southeast 32nd Road around eight o’clock Tuesday evening when an SUV, attempting to make a left turn, began to slide in front of the motorcycle which crashed into its front right bumper. The impact of the crash threw the rider from his motorcycle.
The motorcyclist was taken to Children’s Mercy where he died of his injuries.
The 18-year-old male driver of the SUV, who is from St. Joseph, and an 18-year-old female passenger from Country Club suffered minor injuries in the wreck.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol no longer releases the identity of victims in its crash reports.
