Terry Beth Swartz, 62, of St. Joseph, MO, met her savior, Jesus Christ, on October 26, 2024. She passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family, after a short hard-fought battle with cancer. She was born on January 22, 1962, to Johnny and Margaret “Charlene” Swartz.
She was the youngest of four. Terry was a Benton High School graduate, class of 1980. She was a social butterfly and knew no stranger. You could often find her at any ball park or dance recital, from here to Kansas City, cheering on her grandchildren-they were her absolute pride and joy. “Grandma T” always showed up, always had snacks, and always spoiled them! Terry devoted her life to Jesus Christ and was baptized on May 20, 2023, at Renovation Church, where she was an active member. She was strong in her faith. Her love for everyone she knew will be greatly missed.
Terry is preceded in death by her father, Johnny Swartz; sister and brother-in-law Charlotte and Denny Rhodes; paternal grandparents John and Helen Swartz; maternal grandparents Charles and Nellie Travis; and her grandpuppy, Dexter.
Terry is survived by her most treasured prizes-grandchildren Cruz and Carson Christofferson, Collins and Harrison Kovac; son and daughter-in-law Anthony and Lindsey Kovac; daughter and son-in-law Whitney and Sheldon Christofferson; mother Charlene Swartz; sister and brother-in-law Sue and Chuck Debenito; brother David Swartz; nephews Danny (Emily) and Dusty Rhodes; Joey (Jill), Vince (Kelsey), and John (Mellissa) Debenito; niece Gini (Barry) Darby.
Terry has been cremated under the direction of Rupp Funeral Home. Family will receive family and friends on Friday, Nov 1, 2024 from 4-6 at Renovation Church, with a service immediately following at 6:00 pm. The family would like to give a special thanks to all the nurses and doctors at Mosaic Life Care who helped Terry during this short, courageous battle.
