Maxine Louise Wickliffe, 77, Easton, Missouri, formerly of Hutchinson, Kansas, passed away Sunday, October 6, 2024.
She was born October 25, 1946 in Champaign, Illinois to Dean and Norma (Porter) Vanderree. Maxine grew up in Hutchinson, graduating from Hutchinson High School and Salt City Business School.
Maxine married Jack Henry Eldredge. They later divorced but remained friends. She later married Richard Allen Wickliff, who survives of the home.
A hard worker who always made sure her family was taken care of, Maxine worked for many years as a detective for the Reno County, Kansas, Sheriff’s Department, while also selling Mary Kay and working as a nail tech. After retirement, she worked as a para for the Hutchinson School District.
She was a longtime member of Union Valley Bible Church in Hutchinson.
Maxine’s family will miss her beautiful home décor, her love of the color purple, and her gooseberry egg salad, but remember most her legacy of always putting others before herself.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepdaughter, Kim Voth.
Survivors include her husband, Richard; son, Troy Eldredge (Steffanie) and their daughters, Gabrealle Eldredge (Nicole Lard), Tallea Eldredge and Piperr Eldredge; stepson, Mark Wickliffe; stepson-in-law, Steve Voth; siblings, Jeannie Brawner, Kathy Wagler (Stan), Carol Streck, and Kelly Baker (Wade); numerous nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
