Agricultural equipment sales continued declining across the United States and Canada during September, reflecting ongoing weakness in the North American farm machinery market. According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturers, U.S. tractor sales dropped 16.4 percent compared with September of last year. Combine sales were also lower, declining 10.9 percent from year-ago levels.
The downturn was even more pronounced for some equipment categories in Canada. Canadian tractor sales fell 15.1 percent, while combine sales plunged 37.6 percent compared with September 2025. The latest figures come as agricultural producers continue facing financial pressures, including elevated production costs and uncertainty surrounding commodity prices. The industry report documents another month of slower equipment purchases on both sides of the border. The Association of Equipment Manufacturers publishes monthly tractor and combine sales reports to track machinery demand throughout North America.
