Man wanted on million-dollar bond caught in St. Joseph

Tuesday at 12:30 PM, officers with the United States Marshals Service Violent Fugitive Task Force located and arrested one Justin L. Matthews at the 3600 block of Charles Street in Saint Joseph.

After a brief check of the building, Matthews was taken in without incident, with the assistance of the St. Joseph Police Department Patrol Division and the Missouri State Highway Patrol.

Matthews was wanted on felony charges, namely robbery in the first degree/Armed criminal action, and assault in the first degree, with bond totaling on million dollars.

Agencies involved as part of the task force included the U. S. Marshal Service, Buchanan County Sheriff’s Office's Career Criminal Unit, Buchanan County Drug Strike Force, SJPD's Street Crimes Unit, MSHP, and the Platte County Sheriff’s Office.

Matthews was booked in the Buchanan County Jail.
