Reverend Marion “Buck” Cannon, age 89, was born March 16, 1936, in Stewartsville, Missouri, the beloved son of Dee and Clystie (Kerns) Cannon. On December 25, 2025, surrounded by the promise of Christmas, Buck was called to his eternal home with his Lord and Savior.
Buck proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp during the Korean War, carrying that sense of duty and honor with him throughout his life. Following his service, he spent more than 30 years as a chef in Kansas City, where he was well known for his wonderful culinary skills and the care he put into every meal he prepared.
A man of deep faith, Buck devoted over 22 years to ministry, including 14 years serving as a pastor in the Presbyterian Church. His life reflected his love for God and people, offering guidance, kindness, and steady faith to all who knew him.
He is preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Helen Farnsworth, Lois Brown, and Marilyn Stockdale; brother-in-laws, Bill Stockdale and Clayton Brown.
Buck is lovingly survived by his son, Thomas Dee Cannon (Kristy Hughes); grandson, Becket Dee Cannon; and many dear friends whose lives were touched by his kindness, wisdom, and faithful heart.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 31st, 2025, at Turner Family Funeral Home in Maysville, Missouri. Burial with military honors will follow at Bethel Cemetery in rural Cosby.Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service.
Memorial contributions may be made in Buck’s honor to an organization of the donor’s choice.
