Greg was born on October 31, 1959, in Atchison, Kansas, the son of Louis “Wayne” Frakes and Corrine (Wagner) Frakes. He attended St. Joseph Grade School and graduated from Maur Hill Prep. He spent his entire career as a machinist for Intercontinental Engineering and Manufacturing until retiring after nearly thirty-five years.
He married Christine Pokorny on July 20, 1985, at St. Joseph’s Church in Atchison and they shared thirty-nine years together. Greg loved his family and was a very supportive husband and father and looked forward to his facetime calls with his grandchildren. There was always a project going on around his house because he could work on and fix just about anything. He cherished his friendships, grilling and smoking meat, insisted on maintaining and cleaning his vehicles and enjoyed relaxing on his deck with a drink. He loved preparing Thanksgiving dinner, watching the Chiefs and had to become a Wildcat to support his daughter. He was always there to share life lessons and insight to his family.
He is survived by his wife, Christine Frakes; a daughter, Danielle Brooks (Jared); a son, Shawn Frakes (Alicia); his mother, Corrine Frakes; a sister, Tonya Galland (Raymond); two brothers, Jeff Frakes (Brenda) and Roger Frakes (Tina); three grandchildren, Stephan, John and Ellie; and his numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Wayne Frakes.
