ANDREW COUNTY—Three people were injured in an accident just before 9a.m. Tuesday in Andrew County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2006 Ford Explorer driven by Lori A. Nightingale, 51, Kansas City, Missouri, was southbound on Interstate 29 just north of the Amazonia exit.
The driver made an improper pass of a 2022 Kenworth semi driven by Cody J. Maberry, 37, St. Joseph. As the SUV cut in on the Kenworth, the Ford's right rear fender struck the left front fender of the semi.
After impact, the SUV began to rotate clockwise and rear-ended a 2019 Western Star MODOT truck driven by Jeffrey M. Lawrence, 33, Amazonia, and overturned.
Andrew County EMS transported Nightingale and two passengers in the Ford Diamond K. Tatum, 28, and a 1-year-old girl to Mosaic Life Care. There were no other injuries. All five were properly restrained, according to the MSHP.
