George P. Govea, 95, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Friday, February 20, 2026.
He was born January 26, 1931 to Antonio and Arsenia Gouveia in Hudson, Massachusetts.
George married Joan Beverly Fournier on July 16, 1966.
George was an avid golfer and bowler. His competitive spirit was always accompanied by fairness and camaraderie, earning respect from his peers in both sports.
He was preceded in death by his parents and 4 sisters.
Survivors include his wife, Joan; daughters, Justine Govea (Sam Crabbe) and Michelle Govea; grandchildren, Anthony (Sarah), Kristopher (Elizabeth), Mariah, and Caleb (Justine); great grandchildren, Weston, Autumn, and Elise; and his sister, Teresa Love.
Natural Farewell under the direction of Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to the Savannah High School marching band.
