Man hospitalized after SUV overturns, strikes barbed wire fence

MERCER COUNTY—One person was injured in an accident just after 11:30p.m. Wednesday in Mercer County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2005 GMC Envoy driven by John E. Stewart, 44, Madison, IN., was westbound on U.S. 136 eight miles west of Princeton.

The vehicle traveled off the north side of the road. The driver overcorrected and the vehicle traveled across the highway, traveled off the south side of the road, struck and embankment and a barbed wire fence. 

Mercer County EMS transported Stewart to Harrison County Community Hospital. He was properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
