Boil order for Oregon and Forest City extended

A boil order for the city of Oregon as well as Forest City has been extended, indefinitely.

Water to the two cities was shut off Tuesday evening so repairs could be made to the water system between the two cities.

Missouri Department of Natural Resources regulations require the city to issue a boil water order afterward until further notice. Oregon city officials say they have not received the go ahead to lift the boil order, so the boil order remains in effect until further notice. Residents should continue to boil water so it will be safe to drink.
