St. Joseph health officials report a bit of an easing of coronavirus trends in Buchanan County.
St. Joseph reports 52 new COVID-19 cases since last issuing a formal report, 33 on Wednesday and 19 on Thursday. The county positivity rate has dropped to 8.17%.
Hospitalization numbers have fallen as well. Mosaic Life Care reports it is treating 21 COVID-19 patients in its system as of Friday morning, 18 in St. Joseph, one in Maryville, and two in Albany. That is the same total as the day before, but down from 28 on Tuesday and considerably down from the beginning of August when Mosaic reported treating 45 COVID-19 patients in its system.
