Imogene “Jean” Perry, 86, of Platte City, MO, passed away Monday, November 10, 2025, at the St. Luke’s Hospice House in Kansas City, MO.
Jean was born on December 15, 1938, in Hooker, Oklahoma to Frank and Edna Bessy (Willis) Decker. She attended Hooker High School. Jean married Herbert Waller Perry on January 10, 1958, in Leavenworth, Kansas. Over the years, Jean worked as a telegraph operator for Western Union; as a secretary for Rock Ford Tractor in Platte City; and as a secretary for the Jon Littleton Ford Dealership. She established Perry Bail Bonds Company in Platte City, where she continued for over 30 years. Jean was a member of the Church of Christ in Leavenworth, KS, and later in Platte City.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Herbert; a granddaughter Debra Lynn Perry; and her brother Wilbur Dean Decker. Jean is survived by her sons Steve (Raylene) Perry, Sr., and Roger Alan Perry; her grandchildren Christina Perry, Steven Perry, Jr., and Diamond Jean Perry; and 7 great grandchildren.
A visitation will be held 1:00 – 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 14, 2025, at Rollins Funeral Home in Platte City; followed by a 2:00 p.m. funeral service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at the Platte City Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be given in Jean’s memory to the American Diabetes Association.
