Sectional tennis
The Savannah Boys' tennis team's season came to an end Monday at the Plaza Tennis Center in Kansas City.
The Savages swept Trenton in the sectional round 5-0 after an hour-and-a-half rain delay.
After another rain delay, Savannah faced Kansas City’s Barstow - the District 13 champion who made quick work of Marshall earlier in the day.
Barstow had too much experience, and swept the Savages 5-0, ending the team’s state aspirations.
The Savages end their season at 16-1, but Drew and Matt Collier, Connor Peek and Evan Heftye and Cole Horton compete in the individual state tournament in Springfield this Friday and Saturday.
