Ronald "Ron" C. Long, 67, Faucett, Missouri; passed away Saturday, July 8, 2023 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Ron was born on January 16, 1956 in Billings, Montana to the late Sherleen Morrow. He graduated from Benton High School.
Mr. Long served his country in the US Army 1972 - 1975, where he was stationed in Germany.
After twenty-nine years, Ron retired from Prime Tanning (Blueside).
Ron was an avid fan of Da Bears and enjoyed watching Westerns, gun collecting, fishing, shooting pool and above all spending time with his grandkids and family.
Ron married Rita Karn on April 5, 1981 in Fanning, Kansas. They celebrated forty-two years of marriage and to that union four children were born. Ron was a devoted husband, father and grandfather.
Ron is survived by his wife, Rita; children, Laurie (Malcolm) Lockerby, Ronald (Courtney) Long, Samantha (Shawn) Head and Allyson (Jared) Hatton; grandchildren, Ryan, Kenley, Johnathan, Christopher, Isabell, Jazmine, Ki, Emery, Kimber, and Adam (A-Ray).
In addition to his mother, Ron was preceded in death by his step-father Louis B. McQueen, Jr., maternal grandparents and Chester Da Bear, his beloved cocker spaniel.
Mr. Long has been cremated under the direction of Heaton-Bowman-Smith & Sidenfaden Chapel, where the family will receive friends Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. A private inurnment will be held at The Old Brick Cemetery, Albany, Missouri at a later date.
