BUCHANAN COUNTY—A Missouri teen was injured in an accident just after 12a.m. Monday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2015 Chevy truck driven by Wesley H. Darnell, 18, St. Joseph, was northbound on Interstate 29 one mile north of Faucett.
The driver fell asleep. The truck traveled off the west side of the road. The truck returned to the road and the driver overcorrected. The truck traveled off the east side of the road and overturned.
A private vehicle transported a passenger Megan H. Schussler, 18, St. Joseph, to Mosaic Life Care. Darnell was not injured. Both were properly restrained at the time of the accident, according to the MSHP.
