Charles Edward Berry, 85, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, January 23, 2024.
He was born August 9, 1938 in St. Joseph to Thomas and Beulah (Morlock) Berry.
Charles married Rose Mary Hernandez on October 11, 1972. She preceded him in death on December 8, 2020.
He worked for many years at Lincoln Grain in Atchison, Kansas, then was a heavy equipment operator for Brumley Rock Quarry, also in Atchison.
Charles was a quiet man who loved his family dearly. He looked forward to family get-togethers at Lewis & Clark State Park.
He loved his dogs and NASCAR, especially Dale Earnhardt, both Sr. and Jr. He also enjoyed old-time country and western music and watching Westerns.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Mary; parents; daughter, Penny Berry; and stepson, Thomas Berry.
Survivors include his children, Francis Dozier (Curtis), Brenda Vice (Tim), Carol Strickert (Phil), Robin Cross (Jamie); Charles Hawkins, Lisa Berry, Debbie Russell, Cindy Berry, Ronald Berry (Nina Dowell), Susie Lieffring (Rick), Robert Berry, Sharon Gray; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Margaret Howard; first wife, Delores; several nieces and nephews.
