Derald W. Cannon Sr., 61, of St. Joseph, MO passed away Tuesday, November 21, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care. He was born August 16, 1962 in St. Joseph, son of Patricia and Phillip Cannon. He attended Lafayette High School and had worked at St. Joseph Woods and American Walnut. Derald enjoyed fishing and was always full of life. He also enjoyed spending time with his family. Derald was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Dean, Danny, and Cecil Cannon, sisters, Denise Cannon and Darla Cannon. Survivors include his companion of 45 years, Mary Thornhill of the home, children, Lana Thornhill and Derald Cannon Jr., brothers, Alan, Dennis "Red", Floyd, Derrick, and Dewayne Cannon, sisters, Donna Farthing and Deanna (Dennis) Thornhill, grandchildren, Kyla (Clarence) Frame, Katelyn Thornhill and, Brayden Lawrence, great-granddaughter, Maya Thornhill, all of St. Joseph and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM on Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Rupp Funeral Home. Mr. Cannon will be cremated following visitation.
