David Allen Cook Sr. 70, of St. Joseph, MO, passed away Thursday, November 30, 2023 at Mosaic Life Care in St. Joseph. He was born July 26, 1953 in Grimes, IA, son of Violet and Eugene Cook. He attended Benton High School. On January 30, 1995, he married Penny Melton. David was a longtime employee with Perka Buildings. He enjoyed fishing on the river, playing washers, and spending time with his friends. David was preceded in death by his parents, and sister, Donna Nash. Survivors include: wife, Penny Cook of the home, daughters, Charity (Matt) Kovac of Stewartsville, MO, and Hope Turner of St. Joseph, son, David Cook Jr. of St. Joseph, step-daughters, Tasha and Heather Sheridan, his special little buddy, Madden Marti, brothers, Butch (Barb) Cook of Iowa and Tom Cook of St. Joseph, sister, Nancy Snyder of Iowa, 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandsons, and 3 step-grandchildren.Mr. Cook has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
