BUCHANAN COUNTY—A Missouri man died in an accident just after 6:30p.m. Wednesday in Buchanan County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Yamaha V Star driven by John K. Shea, 34, Stewartsville, was westbound on U.S. 36 just west of SE 123rd, thirteen miles east of St. Joseph.
The motorcycle rear-ended the towed unit of a 2021 Freightliner semi driven by Scott E. Hopkins, 55, Mayetta, and Shea was ejected.
Buchanan County EMS transported Shea to Mosaic Life Care where he was pronounced deceased. Hopkins was not injured. Shea was wearing a helmet, according to the MSHP.
