Chesteen E. Stuck, 93, passed away surrounded with love on September 30th in St. Joseph, MO.

Chesteen was born July 15, 1932 to Chester and Opal (Thomas) King.

Chesteen worked at Peachtree Door for 17 years, Quaker Oats for 6 years and then Hazelwood Industrial Sewing for 24 years.  She appreciated sunshine, fresh air and working the soil.  She loved music, particularly gospel and old country.  She was a lifetime member of Trinity United Brethren Church where she wore many hats, most notably leading the congregation in hymns each Sunday morning.  She also spent many years leading the children’s ministry.

Chesteen was proceeded in death by her parents, 4 sisters and 1 brother, her husband and a beloved grandson.

She is survived by daughters, Roxanne (David) Willis and Gina (Vince) Grier; Grandchildren, Cristin (Todd) Coffman, Sadie (Evan) Cruz, Kadie (Dawson) Cottle, and Archer Grier, plus two Great Grandchildren.

Chesteen was a natural nurturer and gave love and support freely.  Her kindness and unrelenting commitment to living her faith were reflected in the number of people who consider her family.

Visitation will be Thursday, October 2nd, and family will receive friends from 5pm-8pm at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Chapel.

Services will be held at 10:30 am on Friday, October 3rd at Heaton-Bowman-Smith Chapel.

Internment at Fletchall Cemetery in Grant City, Missouri, with graveside committal at 2pm on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, and in honor of Chesteen’s love of children, the family request donations to be made to The Noyes Home for Children.
