Robert A. “Bob” Krogman, 87, of Holton, passed away on Monday, August 7, 2023 at The Pines South near Holton.
He was born on July 11, 1936 at Oneida, the son of Martin and Clara Osterhaus Krogman. He graduated from Denison High School in 1954 and served in the U.S. Army Reserve.
Bob was a member of St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton.
He had worked for Goodyear Tire in Topeka and retired on April 11, 1995 after 40 years. He and his brother Paul operated Krogman Motors for over 20 years. Bob also raised cattle.
He married Helen “JoRae” Nelson on August 10, 1957 at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Holton. She preceded him in death on August 24, 2017.
Bob was also preceded in death by his parents, a son, Michael Krogman, who died shortly after birth, a brother, Paul Krogman, and two sisters, Judy Barrow and Alice Doyle-Lindemuth.
Survivors include a son, Gary Krogman (Beth), Silver Lake; two daughters, Nancy Kathrens (Jeff), Holton and Janet Gilliland, Lenexa; two sisters, Gladys Law, Topeka and Mary Ann Turner, Demming, New Mexico; seven grandchildren, Bailey Renfro (Cameron), Perry Berger (Levi), Rylie Fort (Duncan), Jaimie Goleman (Leif), Mark Kathrens (Samantha), Joni Wardosky and Jenna Manchion (Austin), and seven great grandchildren, Cameron and Mia Wardosky, Blakley, Brinley and Baylor Renfro, Kaiser Goleman and Carson Manchion.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, August 11th at St. Dominic Catholic Church. Burial with military honors will follow in Mt. Calvary Cemetery west of Holton. Bob will lie in state from noon until 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday and all day Thursday at the Chapel Oaks Funeral Home in Holton, where a visitation will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., with a Rosary prayed at 7:00 p.m.
