Laura "Maggie" Brantley 1935 - 2025

Laura "Maggie" Margaret Brantley 89, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025 in St. Joseph, MO. She was born March 21, 1935 in Maryville, MO, daughter of the late Olevia and Byron Wray.

She attended Benton High School Class of 1953, and married Arthur Brantley on November 21, 1958. They shared 56 years together. She worked at the First Stockyards Bank as a teller for 29 years. During that time, she was a member of the American Bankers Association. After retirement in 1986, she and Art enjoyed 26 years of traveling in their RV together. They were members of the Good Sam's Club. Their adventures took them to 28 states including Canada, and attending 340 "Samberees" together. Her favorite things were traveling, crafting, all sorts of puzzles, and playing her organ. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and her many friends, including the visits with everyone at South Park Beauty Salon, the Wednesday Pizza Ranch bunch, the get-together's with the gals in the Armour group and great neighbors. Maggie was Methodist.

She was preceded in death by husband, Arthur, her parents, brother, Russell Wray, and Infant Brother, Galen Wray.

Survivors include: daughter, Cindy Fiene of Lincoln, NE, daughter, Candis Edmonds of St. Joseph, MO, step-daughter, Debbie (Frank) Vera of Arlington, TX, sister-in-law, Dorotha Wray of Lake Havasu City, AZ, grandchildren: Brandon Cornelius, Eddie (Dalia) Cornelius ,and Cerenity Edmonds, Julie (Nick) Winship, Elizabeth Paletez, Tres Vera, 11 great-grandchildren, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Funeral Service will be 10:00 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2025 at Rupp Funeral Home. Pastor Dave Mejia officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday at Rupp Funeral Home. The Interment will be at the Memorial Park Cemetery.
