Vera Jean Baker, 91 of Savannah passed away December 6, 2022. She was born on April 5, 1931, in Blythedale, MO to Elmer and Ruth Huitt. Vera married Curtis (CB) Baker on August 3, 1949, which they celebrated 73 years of marriage.
Vera was church choir director in Texas where they wintered for many years. She enjoyed music, fishing, and family dinners where she loved cooking for anyone, hungry or not. She spent many years tending to a large garden and flowers, roses, pansies, and violets always her favorites.
Proceeded her in death are her parents, siblings Carlyle, Nina, Robert and Harold, a baby daughter, a grandson Toby, and son-in-law Butch Oliver.
She is survived by husband CB, children Tom (Carol) Baker, Sharon Oliver, Carolyn Anderson, Terry (Shelly) Baker and Larry (Christine) Baker; 11 Grandchildren – Laura, Jennifer, Rochelle, Tracy, Brenda, Patricia, Nathan, Jason, Danielle, Katelyn, Logan; 21 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great, Great Grandchildren; sister-in-law Claira Vaughn, numerous family members and friends.
