Roberta “Bobbi” Anderson, 89, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, April 5, 2026.
She was born March 11, 1937 in Cosby, Missouri, to Milton and Iris (Smither) Heinz. Bobbi grew up in Cosby.
On November 3, 1962, Bobbi married Raymond E. “Gene” Anderson. He preceded her in death on July 19, 2012.
She was a longtime member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Joseph, Missouri, and also was active in the Altar Society there.
In addition to being a steady presence at home, Bobbi liked to get out and socialize. She was a room mother for her children’s classes when they were young, then later in life after Gene passed away, she participated in several card-playing groups, with Mahjong being her favorite.
She was known for her baking – especially her cream pies with unbelievable meringue. She also enjoyed making quilts.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Gene; her parents; and daughter, Kathy Northup.
Survivors include her children, Patti Bottorff (Jerry) and Gary Anderson (Mavis); son-in-law, Michael Northup; grandchildren, Jared Bottorff, Jessica Anderson, and Cassandra Anderson; and sister, Virginia Powers.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Mount Olivet Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
