ATCHISON COUNTY —Two people were injured in an accident just after 11a.m. Wednesday in Atchison County.
A Nissan mini van driven by Thomas McLaughlin, 75, Muscotah, was southbound on the U.S. 73 and U.S.59 connecting link, according to Atchison Police Chief Mike Wilson.
The van was turning east onto U.S.59 when a collision occurred with a Peterbilt semi driven by Timothy Torkelson, 55, Hiawatha, that was northbound from a business parking lot crossing U.S.59 to the connecting link.
EMS transported McLaughlin and a 70-year-old female passenger to Amberwell Hospital for examination. Torkelson was not injured. Police reported no additional details.
