Teri L. Riley, 78, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, March 12, 2026.
She was born February 10, 1948 to Sabin S. and Margaret I. (Van Gotten) Edgerle in Chanute, Kansas.
On July 1, 1978, she married her beloved husband, Virgil W. Riley.
Teri dedicated 33 years to shaping young minds as a teacher within the Savannah School District and surrounding areas.
She was a painter, channeling her creativity into beautiful canvas. Golf was another of her passions, allowing her to relish the outdoors while engaging in friendly competition. An avid reader, Teri could often be found with a book in her hand.
Her garden was a testament to Teri's nurturing spirit, with every flower and plant flourishing under her attentive care. As a fan of the Kansas Jayhawks, she celebrated every victory with the same enthusiasm and passion she brought to her many interests. However, it was spending time with her grandsons that brought Teri the greatest happiness.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
Survivors include her husband; children, Jeremy Riley (Melanie) and Shannon Meyer (Matt); grandsons, Cooper and Duncan Riley, and Sabin Meyer; sisters, Pat McKain and Lori Moravek.
Farewell Services & Public Livestream 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 18, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends 6:00 to 8:00 P.M. Tuesday, March 17, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
