2 hospitalized after semi rear-ends a pickup

MERCER COUNTY—Two people were injured in an accident just after 1p.m. Friday in Mercer County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2000 Kenworth semi driven by a 69-year-old Polk City, Iowa man was northbound on U.S. 65 four miles north of Spikard.

The semi rear-ended a 2001 Ford F250 driven by a 57-year-old Princeton, Missouri, man who had slowed to make a right turn onto Income Loop.

Mercer County EMS transported both drivers to Wright Memorial Hospital. They were both properly restrained, according to the MSHP.  The Patrol no longer releases names of accident victims.
