The St. Joseph Police Department participated along with other area local law enforcement this past weekend in Saturation Saturday.
St. Joseph Police report that during the targeted enforcement on August 23rd, officers conducted a total of 48 traffic stops. Additionally, seven vehicles refused to stop, prompting further investigative follow-ups. The department issued 19 citations and delivered 29 warnings for a variety of traffic violations.
Saturation Saturday is a nationwide campaign hosted by Mothers Against Drunk Driving aimed at deterring impaired and dangerous driving on local roadways. The enforcement resulted in two arrests for Driving While Intoxicated (DWI) and two additional arrests for outstanding warrants.
