She was born on September 26, 1936, to Raymond and Alberta Bahr in Carroll County, MO.

Through the years Janearl was very active. She helped raise sheep, chickens, cows, pigs, and rabbits, all while raising five children. She loved being outdoors, but she was no stranger to the kitchen. Her apple pie, tea rings, canned vegetables, and many savory dishes were all made with much love.
Janearl and Robert took their children on many trips both on TWA passes to far away places and shorter camping trips.
After the children were grown, they continued their travels and enjoyed many trips with their children and grandchildren. She always wanted her children to have a swimming pool and she finally got one. She took care of it for many years, and all the grandchildren loved spending time swimming and playing water volleyball with her.
