Saint Joseph's baseball destination will be ready to play this year.
Phil Welch Stadium received a million-dollar facelift in the offseason, including new, wider box seats and steel benches.
President and Owner of the Saint Joseph Mustangs, Ky Turner, says they've gotten great feedback on the new seats so far, and compliments the city's Parks and Rec staff for handling hiccups during renovations, especially crediting Parks Director Jeff Atkins.
Turner added that though seats are now three inches wider, there aren't any fewer in the stadium, and the team's already 90% sold out of season tickets for the reserved box seats.
The Mustang's Opening Day is May 27th, taking on the Kansas City Monarchs in non-MINK league play.
