Missouri is among the more than 30 states that have reported cases of cyclosporiasis this summer.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has received reports of 4,173 laboratory-confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis. Missouri has 216 confirmed cases of cyclosporiasis, according to the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services. In Buchanan County, there have been 17 confirmed cases.
The CDC also reports it is aware of more than 7,400 additional cases that are not yet laboratory confirmed and require further investigation and analysis.
