Joyce Y. Brown, 86, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, June 29, 2023 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was born December 29, 1936 to Max Burdette and Bernice Pearl (Young) Kepner in Creston, Iowa.
Joyce married Ronald Fay Brown on June 15, 1956.
She was a loving mother and grandmother who enjoyed being with her family and friends. She was a Cub and Girl Scout Leader for many years.
Joyce enjoyed owning her business “Brown’s Variety Store” and traveling with her flea market business. She worked for Eagles Wings Medical Transportation for many years. She and her husband Ronnie enjoyed traveling together while he was still living.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband, her siblings Harold M. Kepner, Billie G. Kepner, Robert L. Kepner, Bernice “Betty” Andeson, Margaret June Adams and many other family members.
Survivors include her children Debra B. Harris, Ronald F. Brown, Jr. (Carol), David Brown, Ronda K. Hinton (Brian), 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, and 5 great great-grandchildren.
Service 3:00 P.M. Thursday, Simplify Cremations & Funerals. Visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment Mount Auburn Cemetery.
