Peggy Lynn (Duncan) Matthys passed away on September 26, 2025.
She was born on October 21st, 1952, to Clyde and Fern Duncan of Trimble, Missouri. Peggy graduated from Smithville High School in May of 1970.
On February 28th, 1972, she gave birth to her son Gary Allan Dennis. On July 3rd, 1986, she was united in marriage to Robert Joseph Matthys. They made their home in Camden Point, Missouri.
She was a member of the Edgerton Christian Church.
In the 1970s Peggy worked at Spelman Memorial Hospital in Smithville, Missouri as a dietitian. She later joined Southwest Airlines at the Kansas City International Airport where she helped charter private transportation for sports teams, NASCAR drivers and musicians. She was present on the charter bus when the Kansas City Royals returned to Kansas City after winning the 2015 World Series.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her son Gary Dennis, sister Shirley Coble and brother Larry Duncan.
She is survived by her sister Terry (Jerry) Dennis, brother, Ralph (Deanna) Duncan; many nieces, nephews and beloved relatives. Peggy enjoyed the music of Freddy Mercury and Queen, loved her family and friends, and was always close to her nephew Dustin (Amanda) Dennis, Kel (Ashlee) Dennis and especially her great niece Lulu Lechner-Dennis.
Private Family Graveside Service will be at a later date at Ridgely Cemetery.
