The Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter hopes to find homes for a lot of cats this weekend.

"There are many, many cats overrunning the animal shelter, currently,” says Kappy Hodges with Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter. “Because of that, the manager of the animal shelter asked for help from Friends of the Animal Shelter to run a special to try to get a bunch of these cats adopted out.”

Hodges says all cats and kittens will only be $10 at a two-day adoption event this weekend. That price covers spay/neuter, vaccinations, fecal test, microchip, and city license.

The adoption events will be from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Friday at PetSmart on the North Belt Highway and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. on Saturday at the St. Joseph Animal Shelter. For more information, visit the Friends of the St. Joseph Animal Shelter Facebook page.
