Lester Ellis Roush, Jr., 86, of Pickering, MO, passed from this life on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at Mosaic Life Care, St. Joseph, MO, with family at his side.
Junior was born on August 13, 1937, in Nodaway County, MO, his parents were Lester Ellis and Ruby (Riley) Roush, Sr. His parents preceded him in death. He was also preceded by his wife, Marjorie, and by his siblings, Loraine Freemeyer, Laberta Palmer, and Harold, Vervil, and Charles Roush, and his brother-in-law, Marvin Palmer.
Lester served his Country in the Army National Guard for 11 years and did surveyor work.
His memberships included the Pickering United Methodist Church, and the Pickering Lions Club, and was very active in the annual Pickering Horse Show.
He enjoyed his tractors, and country gospel music.
On January 1, 1956, at the Pickering United Methodist Church, Junior was united in marriage to Marjorie Jean Pistole. They were married for over 67 years before her death on May 23, 2023.
Junior farmed, and also had worked for MODOT for 37 years as a surveyor.
He is survived by his children and grandchildren, Teresa (Dennis) Parker, Shambaugh, IA, Pam (Ernest “Bill”) Tempel, Columbia, MO, Jola (Kenny) Fisher, Savannah, MO, and Alan (Adriann) Roush, Maryville, MO. His grandchildren, Michael Scott (Rachel) Morton, Amanda Morton, Ben Parker, Nathan Tempel, Jacob Fisher, Josh (Jennifer) Fisher, Hailey (Adam) Jahnel, Rachel Roush, Corby Roush, and step grandchildren, Haley Akins, Jaden Akins, Corah Thompson, and Brennon Akins, great grandchildren, Aidan Morton, Nakia, Farrah, and Elyse Fisher, Ellis, Margot, and Callum Fisher, Toben and Cohen Jahnel, and step great granddaughter, Raylee Pettlon. Also by his siblings, Ross Edwin (Donna) Roush, Maryville, MO, Jerry (Fern) Roush, Hopkins, MO, Deon (Jodee) Roush, Maryville, MO, Leon (Carolyn) Roush, Maryville, MO, brother-in-law, Russell Freemeyer, Ravenwood, MO, sister-in-law, Barbara Roush, Hopkins, MO, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services are at 10:00 AM, on Thursday, September 28, 2023, at the Bram Funeral Home, Maryville, MO. The burial will follow in the Long Branch Cemetery, Gaynor, MO.
The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 P M, on Wednesday, September 27, 2023, at the funeral home.
