Julia (Cobb) Franken, 90, of Troy, Kansas passed away Thursday, May 25, 2023, at the Wathena Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Julia was born on January 25, 1933, in St. Joseph, Missouri to R.F. and Beulah (Steeby) Cobb.
She graduated from Lafayette High School. Julia was a member of the St. Charles Catholic Church, Troy, Kansas. She worked for Anchor Serum and Meade Products, retiring to the farming life, raising cattle, chickens and working her garden.
Julia married William Jr. Thompson, he preceded her in death in 1964. She then married William “Bill” Franken, he preceded her in death in 2018.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, R.F. Cobb Jr. and grandson, Scott King.
Survivors: son, Ronnie Thompson, daughter, Sue Simmons, grandson, Chad King. Numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral Mass: 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, May 31, 2023 at the St. Charles Catholic Church, Troy, Kansas.
Rosary 5:30 P.M. with visitation to follow until 8 P.M. at the Harman-Rohde Funeral Home in Troy, Kansas. Friends may call after 11:00 A.M. Tuesday.
Burial: St. James Catholic Cemetery, Fanning, Kansas.
