Cathrin Ann Hales, 70, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed into eternal rest on February 16, 2024. She was born on November 23, 1953, in Nampa, Idaho, to Leonard and Rowena (Russell) Parks.
She married Clifford Jay Hales on November 10, 1977 in The Salt Lake City Temple.
Cathrin dedicated a generous portion of her life to caring for others as a compassionate nurse for 15 years, but her main focus was using her nurturing spirit raising her five children and, in time, doting over her 23 grandchildren, whose lives she touched with wisdom, laughter, and countless memories. Cathrin was the beloved cornerstone of a large and loving family, survived by her husband, Clifford; children, Cliff Hales (Brittney), John Hales (Jessica), Anne Matthys (Josh), Dave Hales (Erin), and Laura Palomeque (Nefi); siblings, Lloyd Parks, Glenn Parks, Ramona Larsen, Sharon Spaeth, Paul Parks, and Rowena Parks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sisters, Marie and Bonnie Parks; and grandson, David Jr.
Her loving nature manifested in her involvement with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Cathrin's dedication to service was apparent in her roles as Relief Society President, Young Women's President, Cub Scout Den Leader, Ministering Sister, and Seminary Teacher. She carried her love for nurturing life into her hobbies, which included sewing, expert genealogy researcher and historian, gardening, and traveling.
