Joanna Ruth Bonham 83, of St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Thursday, February 22, 2024 at a local health care facility. She was born September 1, 1940 in St. Joseph, daughter of Verrill and Floyd Hessemyer. Joanna graduated from Central High School, class of 1958, and Stephens College, class of 1960. She married Gary Bonham on June 6, 1964 in St. Joseph. Joanna loved animals, especially her poodles. She was a devoted mother and loved spending time with her grandchildren. She was a member of the Ashland United Methodist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents, and husband, Gary Bonham. Survivors include: son, Galen Bonham, daughter, Jenny Galloway, both of St. Joseph, grandchildren, Benjamin, Gabriel, and Jolie Galloway.Ms. Bonham has been cremated under the care of Rupp Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Memorials are requested to Friends of the Animal Shelter.
