The St. Joseph Mustangs fell to the Jefferson City Renegades 17-7 on Sunday night at Vivion Field in Jeff City.
The Mustangs (6-4) had nine hits and got a home run from Easton Bruce, but the Renegades had 13 total hits and hit two homers themselves.
Jeff City scored five runs in the bottom of the eighth to end the game via run rule.
At the plate, Bruce, Ike Book, Brayden Luikart and Mason Holton each had a pair of hits. Bruce scored three runs and tallied three RBIs.
Andrew Clark took the loss on the mound for St. Joseph. He made the start and gave up eight earned runs in 4.2 innings. He walked six batters and struck out three.
The Mustangs are now 6-4 overall, as they’ve dropped three of their last five games. St. Joseph will play at Clarinda, Iowa each of the next two nights. Monday's game starts at 7 p.m.
