A 32-year-old St. Joseph woman has been charged with resisting arrest and suspicion of driving drunk after leading law enforcement on a chase from Kansas City to St. Joseph.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol reports T’era Pennell was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon near downtown St. Joseph.

The patrol says Pennell fled police officers at Interstate 29 and 72nd Street in Kansas City, driving north on I-29. Buchanan County authorities put down spike strips and took out three of her four tires, but she kept going, though well below the speed limit. The patrol says Pennell drove on Highway 36, exiting at 28th Street before ending the pursuit.
