CLINTON COUNTY—One person died in an accident just before 5:30a.m. Monday in Clinton County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol reported a 2004 GMC Utility truck driven by John F. Pollock, 43, Byrnes Mill, was westbound on MO 116 four miles east of Lathrop.
The truck crossed into the eastbound lanes and struck a 2020 Kenworth semi driven by Benjamin G. Reed, 44, Kansas City, Missouri.
After impact, Reed lost control of the semi. It traveled off the road, rolled and he was ejected.
Reed was pronounced dead at the scene. Pollock was not injured. Both drivers were not wearing seat belts, according to the MSHP.
