ATCHISON COUNTY —Law enforcement authorities are investigating a Kansas felon on new allegations
Just after midnight Monday, police arrested 45-year-old Cory E. Wabski of Atchison in the 100 block South 5th Street on a District Court warrant for fleeing and attempting to elude, driving while suspended, reckless driving, and other traffic charges, according to Police Chief Mike Wilson.
On May 11, a vehicle driven by Wabski was involved in an accident in the 1000 block U Street. The vehicle left the roadway and struck a guide wire to a utility pole. Wabski was cited for leaving the scene, driving while suspended, and driving left of center, according to Wilson.
On February 20, an officer on patrol attempted to stop a Pontiac sedan in the 800 block Spring Street that was being driven by Cory Wabski. The vehicle fled from the officer and drove into Missouri.
Wabski is also being held on an Atchison District Court warrant for failure to appear in court, a Leavenworth District Court warrant for failure to appear in court, Jackson County Kansas District Court warrants for failure to appear in court, and a Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation District Court warrant for failure to appear in court.
In August of 2020, police arrested him on requested meth and marijuana possession charges, according to online jail records. He has two previous drug convictions, according to the Kansas Dept. of Corrections.
