Following the departure of Beau Pribula to the transfer portal, the Missouri Tigers are in need of a starting quarterback for the 2026 season.
Matt Zollers is a potential starter, after starting four games in place of the injured Pribula this past season, but competition is expected from the likes Sam Horn, who may join the Los Angeles Dodgers after recovering from injury and now a new transfer from a familiar SEC foe.
Former Ole Miss quarterback Austin Simmons has transferred to Missouri as a graduate with two years of eligibility, bringing arm talent and big-play ability but limited experience. Simmons' was set to be the Rebels starting quarterback this season, but after suffering an ankle injury lost the job to Trinidad Chambliss who is currently leading Ole Miss through the College Football Playoff. Prior to losing his job, Simmons' threw for 744 yards, four touchdowns, but also threw five interceptions, making him a promising yet unproven addition to the team.
