Karen Sue Harrison, 81, Savannah, Missouri, passed away Thursday, November 16, 2023.
She was born on March 7, 1942 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Fred and Lovella (Kirtley) Smith. Karen Sue grew up in St. Joseph and graduated from Lafayette High School in 1960.
Karen Sue married Howard H. Harrison, Jr. on December 22, 1962. He preceded her in death on January 19, 2001.
She was an operator for Southwestern Bell for 13 years, then was a secretary for AT&T for 17 years. She retired in May 1992.
Karen Sue was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church and worked in the daycare there for many years after retiring. She was currently a member of Renew Church.
Family meant everything to Karen Sue, and she loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 38 years, Howard; her son, Dean Curtis Harrison;_her parents; and her brother, Fred Kirtley Smith.
Survivors include her daughter, Sherri Cogdill (David W.); grandchildren, Ashley, Kristen, Hunter, Maverik, Kelly, Beth, Ashley, Jeff, Corey, Justin, and Haley; 25 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; numerous other extended family members.
Farewell Services 1:00 P.M. Monday, Renew Church. Interment Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will gather with friends one hour prior to the service.
