Curtis E. ”Heavy” White, Sr., 61, St. Joseph, Missouri, passed away Sunday, October 12, 2025.
He was born December 22, 1963 in Kansas City, Missouri, to Perdexter and Darline (Robertson) White. Curtis grew up in Kansas City, then moved to St. Joseph right after high school.
He did carpentry and remodeling with his dad and uncle in Kansas City, then was self-employed in auto repair in St. Joseph.
In his younger years, Curtis enjoyed roller skating and riding motorcycles. Later on, he enjoyed playing cards and going to the casino. Through it all, he loved music, especially old-school R&B.
Curtis was a devoted father who loved to spend time with his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Cornell White; two nieces; and one nephew.
Survivors include his longtime partner, Mary Weston; children, Kiare Robinette (Ken), Shaska White, Brittnee Scott, Ikea Berger, Khadijah White-Weston, Curtis E. White, Jr., and Cornell White; grandchildren, Kaiden Daicy, Reshad Barker, Savion Stone, Niyah Berger, and Aceion White; sisters, Carla Doran (John), Velinda White, Sheverla McDonald, and Shana Handy (Maurice); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, other extended family members and friends.
Farewell Services and Public Livestream 1:00 P.M. Monday, October 20, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. The family will gather with friends 3:00 to 5:00 P.M. Sunday, October 19, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory.
