The 17th annual Great Northwest Winefest is set to take over Griffith Park in Mound City at the beginning of next month.

The festival being held on October 3rd will bring together vendors of spirits and wine, shopping goods, food, as well as family entertainment and fun to Mound City, all supporting the Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation.

Coordinator Amanda Griffin says the event will be one of the largest in the 17 year history of the festival.

"We're looking at 70 different vendors coming in from all over northwest Missouri, going to set up in Mound City on October 3rd," Griffins says on the KFEQmunnity show. "And the most spirit vendors we've ever had before, 15 different spirit vendors are going to be joining us."

Vendors are from all over northwest Missouri and will bring some of their popular spirit selections along with some of their more artistic choices for people to sample or purchase. Along with the wine, there will be several vendors with artisan goods to purchase which Griffin says could make the perfect Christmas gift that you would not be able to find anywhere else

Along with the vendors, the Great Northwest Winefest will provide entertainment options as well. Angie Kelim, the Crazy Professor Hair Band, Jenkees, and Dueling Pianos will all take the stage throughout the festival which runs from 11:30am to 7pm on Saturday, October 3rd.

All funds raised during the event support the Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation, which Griffin says helps support small businesses in the region.

"When you pour a glass at our festival, you're actually pouring back into the community," Griffin explains. "Because every dime that we make from this fundraiser goes straight into coaching small businesses in northwest Missouri and making sure those businesses are healthy and thrive and stick around for the long haul."

Tickets to the festival are $30 to be able to sample and purchase all the spirits and alcohol you would like. For $15, a designated driver ticket can be purchased for those who are not interested in drinking wine but want to attend the festival.
